The Laborer and the Snake
A snake made a hole close to the porch of a house, crawled in, and bit the baby that lived there. The father of the dead child got very mad and decided to kill the snake.

When the snake came out of its hole for food the next day, the man grabbed his axe to kill the serpent, but swung too quickly and missed. Instead of cutting off the snake’s head, he chopped only off the end of its tail.

After this, the man thought they should be friends because he was scared the snake might bite him, too. To show the snake he wanted to cause no more harm to him, he put some bread and salt inside the snake's hole. The snake refused the offer and with a hiss said, "We cannot be friends. Every time I think about you I will think about when you cut off the end of my tail, and when you see me you'll think about how your son died."

My Horrible Pirate Disappointment

My Horrible Pirate Disappointment
Ahoy! I must tell ye me tail about me journey. It’s hard for me not to hang the jib when I ponder it. T’ waters were rough and I was the coxswain of the ship. Twas a big responsibility. That night the vessel was becalmed. It was so frustratin’. I walked to the bow ready to take me break when all of a sudden a cog came sailing up fast. I yelled, “Sail ho!” and all of me deck mates sprung into action.
They all yell “Blimey! Wake the cap’n!” We vowed to send that cog down to Davy Jones’ Locker.
I yelled, “Fire in the hole!” and th’ first shot was fired. All the men rocked with the ship and choked on the smoke. I patted my bucko on the back and got back to work. This madness must heave to! These are our waters.
As the fighting went on, I called them slimy bilge rats, a bunch of no good knaves, picaroons, and all the other names I could think of. Suddenly, I realized this was a wanted ship. I could take it over and get the booty and keep it in me coffer. I was seeing dollar signs. Then I was blown off the ship and launched onto an island.
